Why fruit wine?
Fruit wine gave me the freedom to experiment and create flavours that felt familiar, exciting, and approachable. I love the idea of taking fruits that people already know and love and transforming them into something completely different. It also allows me to play with bold flavours and combinations that you don’t always find in traditional wine. For me, fruit wine is about making wine feel fun, expressive, and accessible.
What inspired you to start ADÙN?
ADÙN was born from a desire to create something that felt personal, something that brought together my love for creativity, culture, and the simple joy of sharing a beautiful drink with people. I wanted to create a wine brand that felt different from the traditional wine experience: more approachable, more expressive, and rooted in my own story. ADÙN is really a reflection of who I am and the things I value; sweetness, culture, connection, and creating memorable experiences.
Why the name ADÙN & Why was it important to connect the brand toYoruba culture?
ADÙN comes from my Yoruba praise name, Adunni. In Yoruba culture, a praise name, or oríkì, carries your identity, character, and lineage, it tells a story about who you are and where you come from.
I wanted ADÙN to carry a piece of that. Adùn means sweetness, which represents not only me, but the wines themselves vibrant, expressive, and full of flavour. It felt like the perfect name for something so personal to me.
What do you hope people feel when they open a bottle?
I hope they feel like they’re opening more than just a bottle of wine. I want them to feel excited, welcomed, and ready to enjoy the moment.
Whether they’re celebrating something big or simply pouring themselves a glass at the end of the day, I want ADÙN to remind them to slow down, savour the moment, and embrace a little sweetness.
At the end of the day, I hope every bottle creates a memory because that’s what ADÙN is really about.
